Tablica upamiętniająca polską załogę ORP (Okręt Rzeczypospolitej Polskiej) PIORUN znajduje się na wybrzeżu kanału Forth & Clyde w pobliżu Titan Crane w Clydebank (niedaleko od Glasgow) – Szkocja. ORP PIORUN odegrał znaczącą rolę w obronie miasta podczas jednego z najcięższych bombardowań II wojny światowej Clydebank Blitz w marcu 1941 roku. Tablica znajduje się na brzegu kanału Forth & Clyde na terenach ówczesnej stoczni John Brown & Company. Clydebank to miasto w zachodnim Dunbartonshire w Szkocji. Jedną z historycznych ciekawostek zamieszczonych na tablicy pamiątkowej jest informacja o tym, że w tych rejonach swoją siedzibę miała słynna fabryka maszyn szwalniczych SINGER, gdzie obecnie znajduje się Clydebank Business Park.

Polish warship ORP (Vessel of the Republic of Poland) PIORUN in Scotland

A plaque honouring the crew of a Polish warship ORP (Vessel of the Republic of Poland) PIORUN is placed at the shore of Forth & Clyde Canal near Titan Crane in Clydebank (close to Glasgow) – Scotland. ORP PIORUN played a significant role in the Clydebank defence in one of the most destructive Air Raid during II World War Clydebank Blitz in March 1941. The plaque is situated at the shores of Forth & Clyde Canal in the historic shipyard area of John Brown & Company. Clydebank is a town in West Dunbartonshire in Scotland. One additional interesting historical issue in this plaque is information about the famous SINGER sewing machines factory which had operated in that region in those times. Nowadays at the place of SINGER factory there is Clydebank Business Park.
